How are children selected?

Upon receipt of your complete application packet, our team conducts a thorough review of each applicant’s eligibility. Our process begins by assessing age and income qualifications, taking into account any utility bills that exceed 30% of the family’s income as a valid deduction. This deduction may positively impact the overall income assessment and eligibility determination. We then consider additional family-related factors. The final decision regarding enrollment in the Head Start Program is made collectively by our selection committee, ensuring fairness and compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards.

We are capable of enrolling 60 children and maintain an active waitlist throughout the year.

Families with an income equal to or less than the federal poverty level or those who receive SNAP benefits, SSI, or TANF/Power funds may qualify for Head Start services. Priority is given to families facing challenges such as homelessness or children in foster care. However, CCCDP can enroll up to 10% of its actual enrollment of children from families above the federal poverty guidelines.
